Tony Ventrella

Tony Ventrella brings over 30 years of experience as a newspaper sports writer, radio play by play broadcaster and television sports anchor to his latest position - reporter for Seahawks.Com. Tony provides daily video reports on the Seahawks popular web site at team practice sessions and from every game home and on the road.

He began his career as Sports Editor of the Wilton Bulletin weekly newspaper in his home town of Wilton, Connecticut right after graduating from high school.

Tony entered the Seattle television sports business in the fall of 1981 as weekend sports anchor for KOMO channel 4 and a year later became Sports Director at KING-5 television where he spent 11 years and popularized the Wednesday night classic, “Wrestling Hold of the Week.”

While at King-5 Tony covered the Seahawks AFC Divisional victory over the Miami Dolphins in Miami and anchored the “Chuck Knox Show,” and “Seahawks Sunday.” He also covered the 1983 World Figure Skating championships where Edmonds Rozalynn Sumners won the gold medal. Five years later Tony led a team of reporters in the coverage of the summer Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea.

In early 1994 Tony became Sports Director of KIRO-7 television where he hosted the “Warren Moon” show, covered the 1995 Seattle Mariners run to the American League Championship series and traveled to Nagano, Japan for the 1998 winter Olympic games.

He also brought KIRO-7 viewers such classics as “Nostradamus,” and “Haircut of the week.”

In the summer of 2003 Tony moved into news anchoring as co host of the Q13 morning news. A year later he anchored weekend sports and his own program called Tony Ventrella tonight. In January of 2005 Tony got his own radio talk show on 710 KIRO. He is currently host of Local Edition on CNN Headlines News and “The Conversation” on TVW.

Tony gives his motivational PEP Talks all around the Pacific Northwest blending humor and real life stories with practical steps towards getting the most out of your life. With a unique approach to keynotes, Tony uses humor, a clever blend of theatrics and straight talk to communicate his message to his audience. That message is, “Gain control of your future and start living the life you have always dreamed of!”
